Bradycardia: Overview

Bradycardia is the name for an abnormally slow heartbeat. The opposite, a rapid heartbeat is called “tachycardia”. A slow heartbeat can be healthy in an extremely fit athlete, but in the average person, slow heartbeat can be the sign of various hidden disorders. Possible causes include heart rhythms disorders, heart conduction disorders, or heart block.
