Common Diseases: Overview

There are many different common diseases. Everyone knows about the common infectious respiratory diseases such as: common cold, flu, croup, pertussis, and so on. Acute digestive disorders are also very common: diarrhea, constipation. Chronic vision disorders such as near-sightedness, far-sightedness, presbyopia (age-related lens disorder), and astigmatism are very common, but are easily treated with glasses or contact lenses. A large number of chronic diseases are very common: diabetes, hypertension, obesity, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, and many others.
