Hypertriglyceridemia: Overview

Hypertriglyceridemia refers to high triglycerides in the blood. It is a type of hyperlipidemia and is closely related to hypercholesterolemia (high cholesterol). Hypertriglyceridemia is a risk factor for atherosclerosis and heart disease. Treatments may include lifestyle changes to diet and exercise, and/or various prescription medications.
