Causes of Concentration Difficulty
Some possible causes of concentration difficulty include:
- Normal child. The attention span of young children is just not that long!
- Normal teenager. The many conflicting demands of adolescence may cause a teenager to appear to have difficulty maintaining concentration (or, at least, if a parent is speaking).
- Concentration disorders
- Hyperactivity disorders
- Learning disorders
Some types of disorders may give the appearance of symptoms similar to difficulty concentrating, such as:
- Absence seizures
- Impulsivity disorders
- Depressive disorders
- Mania disorders
- Dementia disorders
